In the last 4 months, Miller Thomson had a minimum 14 matters involving 7 Multilaw members that were either received by or referred by our firm, including work in the areas of Restructuring & Insolvency, Labour & Employment, Private Client Services, Health, Intellectual Property, Marketing & Advertising and Corporate. Ten of the matters involved a Multilaw member in the Americas. Some of the matters included:

• Referral to Duane Morris regarding a clothing manufacturer client that was seeking assistance in setting up a labour outsourcing company in Vietnam
• Referral from Lathrop GPM regarding a second opinion on whether a recreational oxygen company’s products are a “drug” that require a DIN before importation into Canada, and clarity on other Canadian-specific food and drug laws that might impact its business in Canada
• Referral from Holland & Knight regarding guidance on Canadian and Quebec Marketing & Advertising compliance related to the launch of a premium level cruise service
