Macpherson Kelley: World Trademark Review rankings released

Macpherson Kelley has been recognised as one of Australia’s top firms practising in trade marks law by leading international publication World Trademark Review.

The firm has been ranked Bronze for Prosecution and Strategy in this year’s WTR 1000 list . It’s the second year in a row the firm has been ranked Bronze, up from Recommended in 2019.

Special Counsel Mark Metzeling was also recognised, ranked Bronze for Prosecution and Strategy and listed in the IP Transactions category. It’s the fourth year in a row Mark has been ranked for Prosecution and Strategy and second year for Transactions.

WTR said Macpherson Kelley’s intellectual property team “receive high accolades from clients”.

A client was quoted saying: “They really understand our business and can provide constructive ideas and solutions to trademark challenges, rather than just execute our requests. They have been instrumental in securing our trademarks overseas.”

Principal Lawyer Paul Kirton, who leads the IP Team, said the WTR 1000 rankings reflected the professionalism and dedication the team brought to helping clients with trade mark issues.

“Mark and the team thoroughly deserve their accolades and the reputation they have developed for their work,” he said.

Earlier this month Macpherson Kelley was named  Australian Trademark Firm of the Year in the 2020 Asia IP Awards.
