Macpherson Kelley’s experience and expertise protecting, commercialising and enforcing the trademark rights of clients has been recognised after being named Australian Trademark Firm of the Year in the 2020 Asia IP Awards.

Macpherson Kelley won the accolade following a vote on shortlisted firms by Asia IP readers and business leaders.

“We’re excited to be recognised for the work our intellectual property team does for clients protecting one of their most valuable assets – their trademarks,” said Principal Lawyer Paul Kirton, who leads the IP Team.

Macpherson Kelley manages thousands of trademarks worldwide for a wide range of clients – from multinationals, Australian listed and private companies, franchisors and emerging businesses.  Many clients and their brands are iconic and household names.

The Asia IP award is the latest for Macpherson Kelley’s IP Team. In 2020 the firm was ranked in the World Trademark Review 1000, IP Stars and Doyles Guide for its trademark work. Special Counsel Mark Metzeling was also named in the WTR 1000, ranked Bronze for Prosecution and Strategy and Recommended for Transactions.
