Gonzalez Calvillo has a new Partner and a new Of Counsel in January 2020


We are pleased to announce that as a consequence of our firm’s selective and steady growth, we are starting off 2020 with one new Partner and a new Of Counsel.

Diana Pineda, who performs regulatory work at our Firm’s Energy and Infrastructure practice area, has been promoted to Partner effective January 1, 2020.


She has over twelve years of experience in energy matters, oil & gas projects, litigation and dispute resolution. For the past five years she has focused her practice in the development of oil & gas projects within Mexico, in the upstream, midstream and downstream areas, advising in international bidding rounds for exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons, open season tender processes, development of storage and distribution terminal projects. She also advises in complex regulatory matters, as well as in the integration of supply agreements, take-or-pay contracts and logistics services agreements, and has also advised several marketing companies of energy commodities.

Diana has been and continues to be actively involved in career advancement and women diversity initiatives. She holds a Master of Science from Columbia University and has been law professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City for over 8 years.

Also, we are pleased to announce that Luis Enrique Cervantes has joined our Labor, Social Security and Corporate Compensation practice as Of Counsel.

Luis Enrique has over 14 years of experience in the private labor law practice, advising clients in every aspect of labor, employment, social security and benefits law. Also, he has been involved in hiring processes, individual and collective bargaining agreements, executive compensation programs, expat management, pension plans, labor restructures, employment termination, massive lay-offs, complex labor and employment litigation including strategic defense representing companies in labor claims filed by employees.

He also has ample experience undertaking due diligence procedures assessing the labor and employment risks and contingencies for investors, and providing support in transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions. Among others, he has experience representing clients in the telecommunication, entertainment, automotive, aeronautical, financial and mining industries.

Moreover, his international experience includes undertaking an internship program at the law firm Jackson Lewis PC at its office located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States.
