Lexincorp Honduras Strengthens and consolidates Litigation, Arbitration , Corporate and Tax Law Teams with the incorporation of five associates


Lexincorp Honduras strengthened its Litigation and Arbitration practice with the incorporation of lawyers Moisés Arteaga and Fabian Villeda as partners of the firm.

The decision to increase the number of lawyers in this important area of practice is due to the significant growth it has had especially in matters related to infrastructure, energy and telecommunications projects both from the perspective of structuring the projects and handling arbitration and litigation related to this area.

Benito Zelaya, director of the Honduras office, said "These additions come within the context of the strategic plan of the firm, which has wanted to focus efforts on supporting its clients in structuring infrastructure projects, energy, telecommunications and continue the growth of the already proven experience in managing conflicts that arise within these industries, where the firm has an important position in the market.

At the same time, he strengthened the area of Corporate Law and taxes with the incorporation of lawyers Allison Velásquez, Juan José Arévalo and Daniela Portillo. Allison Velásquez will come to lead the firm's tax practice and Juan José Arévalo and Daniela Portillo will join the corporate structuring and counseling area.

Moises Alexander Arteaga Bonilla
Moisés Arteaga is a Lawyer with more than 7 years of experience and holds a Master in Renewable Energy Management.  Within the public administration he was a legal advisor to the Secretary of State in the Energy, Natural Resources, Environment and Mines offices, ruling on key projects in each area, as well as handling litigation as a procedural representative. Additionally, he was a member of the firm Melara and Associates and later the director of an important transportation technology Startup in Honduras, which allowed him to have an in-depth knowledge of the world of "Start ups".

Fabian José Villeda Corona

His professional practice has focused on both national and international Litigation and Arbitration. He advised on the reform of the rules and statutes of an international Conciliation and Arbitration Center to resolve disputes in the agribusiness industry in Honduras. His academic background is concentrated in public and private international law with a focus on International Investment and Trade Law (WTO) and the resolution of disputes that may arise in these areas, with specialization in non-discriminatory clauses in both their substantive and procedural form in international economic law. He completed a period of training and research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany. He has been trained in International Arbitration under the rules of ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, among others. He has had experience for several years as a teacher and has participated as
a participant and speaker in international forums, colloquiums and workshops in different subjects.

Education: Law degree from Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC); LL.M. in International Law from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (University of Heidelberg, Germany) and Master in International Law, Investment, Trade and Arbitration from Universidad de Chile. Diploma in the International Defence of Human Rights from the University of Zaragoza and the Latin American Centre for Human Rights Diploma in Human Talent Management from the Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador.

Allison Velasquez

Prior to joining Lexincorp Allison was at the National Securities Market Commission in Madrid, Spain. She also worked in the risk department of an important banking institution in Honduras and was part of the Income Administration Service where she was the Representative of Honduras before the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and worked in important tax law reform projects.

Education: Postgraduate studies in Tax Law and Banking Operations at Colegio Universitario De Estudios Financieros (Cunef). He has a Master in Banking Law and Markets and Financial Institutions from the Universidad Complutense De Madrid and another in Corporate Business Law from the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (Unitec)

She is a lawyer graduated from the Catholic University of Honduras (UNICAH)

Daniela Portillo
Daniela Portillo is an attorney specializing in corporate law and intellectual property, and has acquired vast experience in these areas, serving international and foreign companies, as well as large trademark portfolios in Honduras. She graduated from the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras with a degree in Law and an honorable mention Cum Laude.

Juan José Arevalo García

Attorney Juan Jose Arevalo began his career as Secretary General of the Office of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras. He studied a degree at the Catholic University of Honduras and has a postgraduate degree in Labor Procedure Law from the same university.
