K&K Advocates merges a cross section of dynamic, result-orientated, energetic and experienced lawyers. The firm has a staff of fourteen highly experienced legal personnel. Our partners Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Edwin Karugire and Peter Kauma, and the other advocates in the firm have accumulated vast experience in legal practice in Uganda, East Africa and internationally. K&K Advocates has been in existence for over 13 years and has emerged as a leader, distinguished particularly in the fields of Commercial Law and Petroleum Law.
K & K Advocates is a full business service law firm providing legal services and solutions to meet all client requirements from set up through operations. This covers management of the full spectrum of client business relationships, which are divided into four categories to help focus the intervention required and the human resources the firm deploys on behalf of the client: 1. Relationships with Regulators: This includes set-up or incorporation, licensing, tax registration, investigation and compliance. We have built solid and dependable relationships over the years with various governmental authorities, with whom we are accustomed to dealing with, including (to mention a few); the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, the Uganda Revenue Authority, the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, the National Environmental Management Authority, the Public Procurement and Disposal Authority, the Immigration Department of Uganda, the Uganda Labour Office, various local government authorities including, but not limited to, the Kampala Capital City Authority. 2. Relationships with Employees: This covers the management of employee contracts, immigration work permits and special passes, the management of employee benefit schemes, pension funds and National Social Security Fund subscriptions, overseeing employee claims to the Labour Office, and engagement with the Courts of Law as and when necessary. 3. Relationships with Suppliers and Business Partners: We draft and manage supply contracts, service level agreements, joint venture agreements, partnerships, supplier claims and supplier defaults and related issues. 4. Operational Relationships: Our firm provides direct operational support in managing client relationships, customers, members of the general public, and engagement of a general nature including the review of reputation risks and Corporate Social Responsibility assignments.
