Education
Joachim Habetha, born in Schleswig-Holstein, studied law at the universities of Kiel/Germany, and Surrey/England. He completed a post-graduate program at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence/Italy, with the Master of Legal Studies in Comparative, European and International Law (LL.M.). Also his doctoral thesis at the university of Kiel focused on company law, directors‘ duties and international private law. The start of his attorney’s career dates back to his admission to the bar in Frankfurt am Main in January 1995 with a German predecessor firm of Hogan Lovells International LLP. There he had been partner since 2000, before he joined Schalast & Partner as of the beginning of the year 2024.

He publishes on topics of company law, M&A contracts and financial supervision. With a German seminar provider (Euroforum), he regularly gives seminars on the M&A contract in practice.
