About Me
Udo Kornmeier, born in Düsseldorf, studied law at the University of Cologne. After he had taken his doctor’s degree at the Chair of International Business Law at the University of Bochum he worked for Baker & McKenzie in Chicago and Frankfurt from 1980 – 1983 and, thereafter, in Munich until 1984. 1985 he changed to the music industry and was Director Business Affairs at Sony Music Entertainment until 1990 and, additionally, from 1988 to 1990 Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing. During this period he was member of the Legal Committee of the Federal Association of the German Record Industry. Since 1991 he has been self-employed and partner of Kornmeier & Partner specialized in copyright and media law. He joined the law office Schalast as partner in October 2016.
