About Me
Megat heads the firm’s dedicated Islamic Finance practice team. He is widely recognised by leading legal directories as one of Malaysia's leading authorities on Islamic banking and finance, and corporate matters.

Megat advises institutional and corporate clients on the documentation for Islamic financing facilities and investments based on Syariah principles. These include Murabahah (cost plus sale), Commodity Murabahah/Tawarruq (monetisation transaction), Ijarah (Islamic lease/hire), Bai’ Istisna’ (construction contract), Bai’ Salam (advance sale), Bai’ Bithaman Ajil (sale with deferred payment), Bai’ ‘Inah (sale and buyback transaction), Musharakah (profit and loss sharing structure) and Mudarabah (profit sharing structure). His client roster includes major local and international financial institutions and corporates, and government-linked entities.

He also assists local and international clients on issues relating to the legal and regulatory framework of Islamic banking and finance, as well as the Syariah standards applicable to Islamic financial/investment transactions in Malaysia and abroad.
