About Me
Hean Leng obtained his LLB (First Class Honours) from Universiti Malaya in 2002 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya the following June. In 2009, he obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Melbourne on an Endeavour Postgraduate Award. He also holds a diploma in international commercial arbitration.

Hean Leng, who has a passion for dispute resolution, began his legal career as a litigation associate in a counsel’s practice. He has advised on commercial disputes involving shareholders and company directors, representing Malaysian and international businesses. He also practises real property law, media law, defamation litigation and public interest litigation. His involvement in the aforementioned matters has led to appearances at all levels of court in Malaysia. He also acts as counsel in commercial arbitrations.

The sessional lecturer with Monash University (teaching Media Law and Malaysian studies) finds time to speak at conferences. He presented in the 2010 Malaysian Law Conference and various other conferences including the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre Annual Conferences 2010 and 2012. Hean Leng has also written a number of publications including journal articles in The Law Review and the Singapore Journal of Legal Studies.

Hean Leng is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the International Bar Association.
