PRACTICE GROUPS: Media, Advertising & Entertainment
Attorneys within the Multilaw Media, Advertising and Entertainment Practice Group possess a wide range of skills and expertise in counseling media and entertainment clients with respect to transactional matters such as negotiation and drafting of contracts, as well as in litigating cases when disputes arise.
Expertise in the libel, privacy, disparagement, advertising and entertainment areas is available in and through the various member firms of the Media, Advertising and Entertainment Practice Group. Cases tried have often been brought to a successful conclusion through court decision, jury verdict or confidential settlement, as appropriate and when requested by the client Additionally, attorneys belonging to the Media, Advertising and Entertainment Group represent clientele before alternative forums, such as arbitration or mediation panels.
Clients served by group members include media clients, such as radio and television broadcasters, newspaper publishers, magazine publishers, composers, music labels, cinema exhibitors, independent production companies, creative agencies and individual producers, writers and performers.
Members of the Media, Advertising and Entertainment Practice Group regularly handle the following types of matters:
- Pre-publication and pre-broadcast review.
- Negotiating location deals for feature and television production.
- Negotiating publishing contracts and license agreements.
- Responses to requests for retraction.
- Responses to informal claims and requests of various types.
- Litigation of lawsuits, including conducting and defending discovery and trying jury and non-jury cases.
- Negotiating management and recording contracts and touring agreements.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating advertising service contracts.
