New Chairman takes over at Multilaw
Mark Lowndes, managing partner of Lowndes Associates, Multilaw firm for New Zealand took over as Chairman during the 2011 Annual General Meeting held recently in London.
Multilaw is one of the top associations of independent legal firms, with more than 6,500 lawyers practising in over 150 commercial centres throughout the world. All member firms are led by experienced lawyers with deep roots in their communities. Multilaw firms pride themselves in providing practical, business minded advice to clients who range from multinational corporations listed on the world’s most important stock exchanges to individuals.
Mark’s involvement with Multilaw began when he led his firm into Multilaw in 2000. He has sat on Multilaw’s Executive Council and has chaired the Business Development Committee. He will serve a two year term as Chairman of Multilaw and during that time in addition to attending the various Multilaw events and conferences that take place around the world he intends to visit as many firms as possible promoting collaboration between members. He will also represent Multilaw at all major international legal gatherings.

Election of Chairman-elect of Multilaw

At the 2010 Annual General Meeting of the the Association which took place on the 23rd of October in Madrid, Mark Lowndes of Lowndes Associates in New Zealand was confirmed as Chairman-elect of Multilaw. He will take up his appointment at the next Annual Gerneral Meeting in October, 2011.

"Having been a associated with Multilaw for ten years, six of which serving as an executive council member, Mark is well known to the members and is familiar with the challenges the Association faces. Launch of Global Data Privacy Tool

The Global Data Privacy Tool was launched by Multilaw Services Ltd at the Multilaw 2010 Annual Conference which took place 21-24 October in Madrid.
The Global Data Privacy Tool is an online product that was created to help businesses navigate known and unknown legal issues as they make strategic business decisions. For an annual subscription fee that is less than the cost of a quarterly newsletter, the Tool makes available informative summaries on a vast array of data privacy topics along with sample forms and supporting documentation. Currently, over 70 jurisdictions are represented, along with discussions on data privacy related topics as well as the European Union Data Privacy Initiative, the APEC Privacy Guidelines, and the Latin American Data Privacy Protection Rules.
