Best event yet at MIPIM

For the fourth year, Multilaw attended MIPIM – an international real estate conference held from 6-9th March with over 19,000 participants held in the beautiful location of Cannes on the south coast of France.

Taking advantage once more of the fact many of Multilaw’s 73 member firms attend MIPIM, Multilaw organised two events preceding the main conference event: an informal dinner for Multilaw lawyers on the evening of Monday 5th March and a networking lunch on Tuesday 6th March. The purpose of these events is to promote networking within the real estate industry and to encourage the real estate lawyers from our member firms to get to know each other better.

The informal dinner, which was held at Le Petit Paris restaurant in Cannes, provided an excellent opportunity for 17 of our member firms’ real estate lawyers to meet and get to know each other over an informal meal.
On Tuesday, La Miramar Plage – set on the beautiful sandy beaches of Cannes – was host to a 3-hour lunch in which lawyers from eight Multilaw member firms attended with their clients. We were proudly represented by: SGH Martineau (Birmingham, England); Heussen Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (Stuttgart, Germany); Felten & Associés (Luxembourg); Bosselaar & Strengers (Utrecht, Netherlands); Guyer & Regules (Montevideo, Uruguay); Jenny & Partners (Milan, Italy); Attorneys-at-Law Juridia Ltd (Helsinki, Finland) and, Jun He Law Offices (Beijing, China). In addition to 20 lawyers, we also hosted 65 clients from the attending law firms such as BNP Paribas Real Estate; PwC; Jaguar Land Rover; GVA Grimley; Lend Lease and Plowman Craven.

The event was widely praised by member firm lawyers and clients alike. Martin Edwards, Head of the Multilaw Real Estate Practice Group, commented that it was the “best event yet” with our largest turn out in terms of member firms and clients. Of particular success was the fact that there was a great mix of networking in the informal setting prior to the lunch and throughout the afternoon with clients speaking with lawyers from many of the attending law firms.

Multilaw was very grateful for the support from all of the firms attending from across Europe, Asia and the Americas and we very much look forward to growing the event in the coming years and encouraging even more Multilaw member firms to take advantage of this opportunity to meet, network and enjoy themselves. The attending firms also exchanged their ambitions to build on the success of this event in the future at other real estate events.
