Koan, an independent Belgian firm, assists its clients, both local and foreign, in the major areas of corporate law, on a national, European, and international level, both through advice and litigation.

Our teams are made up of more than 30 lawyers. They have a renowned expertise in each of their specialisations and work together to complement their individual areas of strength.

Why Koan?
Koan literally means: ‘One who sets precedents.’
In its present-day sense, derived from Zen philosophy, the koan is an enigma which is only resolved by extending beyond the usual ways of thinking.

Our choice of name reflects our way of working: proactively analysing dossiers, and seeking creative and effective solutions.
