AA is best known for complex transactional finance, corporate restructurings (mainly of international groups), leveraged buy-outs and for providing legal counsel on matters related with industrial and intellectual property law and IT law. The firm’s international experience was initially grounded on the founding partners experience in major US and UK international law firms.
The firm’s client base includes some of the largest international companies operating in Portugal, in areas as diverse as financial and banking services, managed funds, automotive industry and automotive suppliers, telecommunications and e-commerce, public works, construction firms, engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemical, hoteliers, distribution and retailing.
In 2001 Abreu Advogados was the first Portuguese law firm to obtain the ISO 9001:1995 Norm certification, and in 2003, successfully managed to complete the transition to the ISO 9001 (2000 standard version). In 2006, Abreu Advogados successfully renewed the ISO 9001: 2000 certification and extended it to its Porto office and, in 2009, completed the transition to the ISO 9001 (2008 standard version), simultaneously extending it to the Madeira office.
