With offices in the heart of the business and commercial district of Hong Kong, the Firm’s general practice serves a wide range of local and international clients, including most major local banks and many substantial Asian, US and European multinational companies. While being a diversified practice, the Firm has particular emphasis on commercial/ corporate finance, litigation and intellectual property.
Hong Kong’s Special Administrative Region continues after the handover of sovereignty to the People’s Republic of China, its historical role as the leading financial and service centre of the Far East, and is the home of many regional headquarters for overseas corporations, providing unrivalled communications, financial and business facilities. Its expertise in accounting, legal, banking and related services maintain its position as the preferred entry point to the People’s Republic of China.
The Firm has developed an extensive profile providing legal services in China related matters including joint ventures, wholly foreign owned enterprises, manufacturing and licensing agreements and property related issues and has in-house qualified Chinese personnel. The Firm established a representative office in Shanghai in May 2004 which greatly enhances the provision of legal service to those of the Firm’s clients who have branched out into China and the rapidly growing Chinese enterprises seeking business opportunities outside China.
The Firm is frequently called upon to take a coordinating lead role in projects throughout the region, where the Firm’s lawyers use their legal and commercial skills to achieve the clients’ aim. The Firm has established a substantial intellectual property practice, both in respect of registration and enforcement, and has been successful in opening new markets in Indo China, namely Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for its wide ranging clientele.
Lawyers within the practice are conversant in English and Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and other dialects).
The Firm prides itself on providing an international quality of full legal service with a personal level of client/attorney relationships.
