    • any appraisals, recruitment or other activities we may operate across our network;

  • To disclose your details to Multilaw Member Firms in which you have expressed an interest in them for those Member Firms to email you with their marketing updates or to discuss services provided by that Member Firms.

To provide you with marketing communications, for example, newsletters, updates and notifications, relating to Mulitlaw and its Member Firms, where you have registered as part of a Multilaw practice group or initiative .

Legitimate interests – in engaging with you and your Member Firm to promote visibility of the Multilaw network;

If you are a Member Firm contact partner, or office holder or committee member with Multilaw (for example, through chairing a practice group, participating in Multilaw’s appraisal committee, or a member of Multilaw’s executive committee or board) to contact you in relation to your role and to promote your firm’s membership of Multilaw by providing your details as a contact point for your firm in Multilaw’s printed and online directories.

Your personal contact details, your opinions relevant to the role you fulfil for Multilaw and information relating to the role you fulfil for Member Firms and your attendance at meetings or calls.

Legitimate interests – in engaging with you in relation to the role you fulfil for Multilaw and keeping records for Multilaw’s organisational purposes.

If you are Multilaw Member Firm personnel, any details of feedback, relating to the services you provide that Multilaw has received which relates to you, including as part of the Multilaw appraisal process of Member Firms.

Your personal contact details, your opinions relevant to the role you fulfil for Multilaw and information relating to the role you fulfil for Member Firms and your attendance at meetings or calls.

Legitimate interests – maintaining quality control within Multilaw firms in seeking and receiving feedback, and carrying out an appraisal process.

Where we have a legal basis to use your personal data without consent (as we have described above), this policy fulfils our duty to process personal data fairly and lawfully and in a manner that you would expect given the nature of our relationship with you, by giving you appropriate notice and explanation of the way in which your personal data will be used.

Where consent is required for our use of your personal data, by ticking the appropriate consent box or otherwise communicating your consent, you consent to our use of that personal data for the purposes covered by the specific consent that you have given.



MARKETING

As mentioned above, we would like to send you information by email about Multilaw which may be of interest to you. Where we rely on consent as our legal basis to send such material to you, we will not do so without your consent. In some circumstances, as described above, we rely on our legitimate interests to contact you for marketing purposes. You have the right to refuse to receive marketing at any time.

We will not provide your personal data to other organisations so they can use your personal data for marketing purposes unless you request us to do so (for example to provide your details to Member Firms or to firms in jurisdictions where there is no Member Firm).

We may share your personal data (including sensitive personal data, i.e. your medical information) with selected third parties in accordance with this policy, including:

  • service providers (for example, IT services, CRM services, event hosts and accommodation providers), business entities with whom we collaborate for the purposes of developing the Multilaw network, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with you or your organisation;

  • our Member Firms and those personnel in Member Firms as appropriate;

  • professional advisers acting as processors or joint controllers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance and accounting services;

  • analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the Website;

  • government or other law enforcement agencies, in connection with the investigation of unlawful activities or for other legal reasons (this may include your location information);

  • we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us, including your personal data, will be one of the transferred assets (however, we will let you know before this happens).

Where you have chosen (or we have given you) access details and/or a password which enable you to access your Multilaw account, you are responsible for keeping these access details and password confidential. We ask you not to share your access details and password with anyone.

We maintain (and ensure that anyone we share your personal data with maintains) appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that an appropriate level of security in respect of all personal data we process. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Website and you acknowledge that any transmission is at your own risk.
